AURA hits the lingerie dept in MYER

A couple of shots from our lovely Visual Merchandiser Tanya in Sydney this week, our Satin Sequin cushion cosying up to a punk chic in the Myer Lingerie section - loving the boots and the hair!

And abit of AURA Love in Sparkling Grape, nicely matched back with the soft purple in the boots - cant help but love the little frill socks peeping out! Nice work Myer.

Food styling

The AURA team where pretty excited this season (especially me) to have on board the very talented Claire Flynn - food stylist extraordinaire for our recent shoot. I thought I would share a few behind the scenes shot of Claire's glorious food that was used to prop our brand new Tablelinen collection. I can't wait for the new range to arrive and to share all of the beautiful shots with you, and maybe if Claire is kind enough, a few recipes as well! 

Needless to say we were not hungry this day of the shoot! Claire's advice on roasting veggies is to lay them on baking paper - saves alot of washing up!

Is there such a thing as too much Chocolate Flan? I think there might have been for me - but gosh it was beautiful, imagine it topped with hazelnut's and cream hmmmmm. Below the amazing Chicken Pie that Hubby and I ate for dinner, perfect winter warmer food. I had to try to reinvent the Pastry top after we gave back the stunning copper cookware on loan, so I will definately be asking for the recipe on this as my pastry certainly didnt cut the mustard! 

And what a good week it was!

It's been a busy couple of weeks in the AURA office organising our next shoot and last week we had a fantastic time shooting our new Spring/Summer 2011 collection - I love our photoshoots, the pleasure of working with a team of very talented people to make our new designs come to life! Lots of love and emotion goes into the designing of our ranges and it is wonderful to have a team of people that understand that passion and feel it too!

 

The hours of work that goes into a photoshoot before the shoot and during the shoot is amazing. The most exciting part for me is when each shot is being set up and then that final look through the camera and the sigh of wonder at the beautiful creation that has been made. And I promised I wouldn't put the team photo :( but you know who you all are - thanks for such a wonderful job team - you rock x x 

Spring Summer 2011 range release!

A Sneak Peek behind the curtain at Spring/Summer's range release!

Its been a long week of range showings for our new Spring/Summer 2011 collection to buyers, with great feedback it has been worth the effort we have all put in! Every 6 months for 2 weeks we dress the showroom with new and exciting products to show to our Australian buyers and international distributors. Luckily this season we have Easter in the middle for a well deserved break. I'm looking forward to heading off to Beechworth for 5 days of rest and relaxation, shopping and eating! Looking forward to sharing some fabulous finds with you next week!

There was huge excitment around our AURA office this week as our beautiful hand made Silk and Linen scarves have arrived! This is the first range of scarves we have done and my family and friends will all be looking very glamorous this Christmas! Our friend of AURA Michele Duncan has borrowed the Silk Tie Dye in Caviar to dress up her sexy black Cup Day frock - I'II make sure we get a shot of her strutting her stuff today on race day!

I am pretty excited that our new scarves are on their way - in the anticipation of them arriving next week I was searching for some cool scarf wearing techniques in Madrid not long ago. Its an art scarf wearing and the Spanish seem to have it covered! Especially Miss Sixty above were I found what I could only call the western cowboy look and the slick Annie Lennox 80s revivial wrapped look!  

Bring on the tapas napkins!!

Our new hand printed tablelinen has arrived and I'm pretty excited, I've got the family coming over tonight for my Spanish fiesta - and my new Gallery tapas napkins in Caper have just landed on my desk they are sooo cute! Above is our lovely shot of the Gallery tapas in Ginger, I think I could get used to using these smaller 25cm (a quarter of the size) napkins all the time - I know they are going to be just perfect around our kitchen bench eating olives and anchoas with the special Spanish Cava we brought back from Seville to celebrate my husbands birthday (Happy Birthday honey! xx)

Beautiful new AURA towels

Our stunning new Bath towel collections have just arrived! They have been jacquard woven in Portugal from beautiful, soft, pure cotton. Cloud soft and totally absorbant (tested in house here by the AURA team!) I hope you love them as much as we do! x

Lovely ladies - crocheting in the outskirts of Delhi at leisure - our new AURA hand crocheted cushions are just gorgeous -I think we need a few colours in these as I would definitely like some for home!

I thought I would share some behind the scenes shots with you from our recent Spring Summer 2010/11 shoot - a new era for us at Aura as this is our 10 year anniversary collection! And for 10 years we have been shooting still life so this was a pretty fun shoot with us trying our hand at fashion photography! This season we are launching a brand new range of Kaftans and scarves so we let our fabulous photographer loose with a model! The shots all look beautiful, I cant think of a better word to describe them - I would like to thank our amazing team - Photographer Isamu Sawa, Stylist Glen Proebstel and the wonderful Jessica from AURA!
