The Beautiful Macrame work of Small Town

White Suede boutique in Chapel St Prahran, VIC.
Deep Sea lamp shade
Knotted Egg light - just beautiful
Large Macrame necklace
The revamp of Fur Hairdressing Salon in Fitzroy Vic, featuring stunning large white & purple Macrame Pot hangers in the front windows.

I am in the middle of trying to think up creative ideas for our stand at the up and coming Melbourne Gift Fair in August, we haven't ventured into Gift Fair land for a while so I want to make sure we make an impact amongst the masses of stands displaying their wares! Well I came across the beautiful work of Small Town, who specialise in making Macrame pieces of Art, each piece is hand knotted and finished to create timeless individual work. I love it they are all stunning, as well as wanting a piece for home they would be perfect in our showroom and for the gift fair - just one more reason to have our own AURA store, that I keep dreaming about, I could just imagine these beautiful works of art hanging filled with sparkly cushions in all their glory.

It never ceases to amaze me the fabulous shots we get in less then ideal spaces - Thanks Issey for the use of your car park again!
I thought I would share some behind the scenes shots with you from our recent Spring Summer 2010/11 shoot - a new era for us at Aura as this is our 10 year anniversary collection! And for 10 years we have been shooting still life so this was a pretty fun shoot with us trying our hand at fashion photography! This season we are launching a brand new range of Kaftans and scarves so we let our fabulous photographer loose with a model! The shots all look beautiful, I cant think of a better word to describe them - I would like to thank our amazing team - Photographer Isamu Sawa, Stylist Glen Proebstel and the wonderful Jessica from AURA

Our new Ena table linen has started!

Our new Ena napkins and tapas Napkins being printed - just like we did at uni - although on a bigger scale and these fellows have amazing skills to match up the repeat on this one!
Hanging out to dry
Ena Olive - Tablerunners drying - soon to go to new homes!
Placemats drying - ready to be cut up and stitched into individual mats.

I thought I would share with you a sneak peak at our Ena tablelinen being hand screen-printed - it is great to see each product being made and I am getting images daily from the factory - I am very excited as the tablelinen is a special range for us to celebrate our anniversary collection for our 10th birthday!

The Story Hotel Stockholm

If you are lucky enough to be looking for a hotel to stay in Stockholm, look no further than The Story Hotel, this is one super cool and unpretensious hotel that was actually affordable! "The hotel philosophy is to combine design and innovation with an attractive location in downtown Stockholm" This was my first (and I hope not only) trip to Stockholm and I loved the hotel, it was in a great spot, walking distance to some great shops and beautiful scenery.  And dont miss the cool little restaurant/bar next door PA & Co - where i had a lovely sweedish dinner at the bar and drank some stunning Austrian Vino!

Stan Gatan - the old city

Someones letter box - how cute is this!
A cafe under the street, I didnt know what to expect from Stockholm, what a surprise the Old City was, beautiful old cobblestone streets and laneways - you can imagine a Vicking on a horse rounding the corner and ducking his head! Stan Gatan was just gorgeous, little shops, bars and cafes at every corner, with amazing colours used on the shop fronts and it was light until 11pm.

N.K department store Stockholm

N.K department store in Stockholm was founded by Josef Sachs in 1902, with the ambition of bringing together the finest product the world has to offer - and what an amazing store! As well as the huge size of the store - I was overwelmed by the space in the furniture department, thus all the images - the store has beautiful large dedicated room settings that I have never seen before within a department store, as well as some of the best homewares brands in the world - a very inspiring visit. I hope I can go back soon!!

Welcome to Stockholm

Finally at the airport in Stockholm, and I was welcomed by a cut out mirrored Deer - not sure how I felt about it.....but I have to agree the fur is lovely...

Lovely Uk Media visits

I was very lucky to visit with the lovely UK Media including, Living Etc, Homes and Gardens and Ideal Home - who were all in this very glamorous building, The Blue Fin building - I found it amazing that they all sat very closely together on one floor working harmoniously - and I also met the wonderful team at Elle Decoration - thanks everyone for your time - it was very appreciated.

Anthropologie London

I was really looking forward to visiting the Regent St Anthropologie and I wasn't disappointed - the store was amazing - 3 floors of Anthropologie cool - I love the living wall - yes 3 floors of it! And the recycled chandelier of plastic bottles - It was slightly $$ though compared to Zara so lets see....I have looked at rent in Melbourne and was shocked so I cant image the rent for 3 floors in Regent st!!
